Snowy Story of Family, Magic, & Hope Coming to US Market

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

ST. PAUL, MN, March 6, 2019 – Danish author H.S. Norup’s magical and wintery middle grade debut The Missing Barbegazi is coming to the US children’s book market November 12, 2019. The novel was recently released in the UK (10/04/18).

In The Missing Barbegazi, 11-year-old Tessa has grown up with her grandfather’s stories about the fabled barbegazi, shy, gnome-like creatures who hide in the Alps. Now, after his death, she’s determined to prove her grandfather’s stories were true.

When Tessa discovers Gawion, a young male barbegazi, she’s overjoyed and can’t wait to tell the world they exist. But Gawion needs her help. His sister is missing and may have been captured by humans. As the two form a tenuous friendship, Tessa realizes that uncovering the truth about the barbegazi carries great responsibilities—and sometimes things have to remain a secret.

H. S. Norup grew up on a golf course in Denmark. Before moving to Singapore with her husband and two teenaged sons, she lived in Switzerland, where she worked on marketing strategy in senior management roles. For ten winters, she spent every weekend on skis, while her sons had ski race training. She recently relocated back to Europe. Follow her on twitter @HSNorup or visit www.hsnorup.com.
