Job Posting: Publicity & Sales Coordinator

North Star Editions is looking for a full-time Publicity & Sales Coordinator to join our staff of print and online publishing professionals.

NSE is the publisher of young adult and middle grade fiction books, and the distributor of fiction and nonfiction books for children and young adults. This is a position that will give the right candidate the opportunity to work in an entrepreneurial environment in a position that requires a self-starter, a keen attention to detail, and an ability to multitask and track various projects in different genres.

Duties will include:

—Work with our sales and publicity team to develop strategies for promoting new and existing imprints
—Work to grow NSE’s presence for all brands across social media platforms by continuing to build networks and increase awareness
—Promote our books with educators, using creative ideas to meet them where they are
—Coordinate updating our various imprint webpages as needed
—Lead the production process for catalogs, providing direction to designers and reviewing drafts per our production schedule
—Work with our sales team to develop ads and other collateral as needed for wholesalers, reps, and distributors.
—Lead our metadata marketing by coordinating its creation and dissemination via spreadsheets and ONIX
—Vet daily requests for digital ARCs on various platforms
—Handle daily publicity and sales mailings, including ARCs, samples, catalogs, and more
—Research and recommend award opportunities for NSE titles
—Keep office copies and bookshelves organized, including taking turns manning the front desk to receive deliveries

Qualifications:

—A bachelor’s degree in sales, marketing, communications, or other relevant field
—Two or more years of experience in marketing or publicity in the publishing industry
—Excellent written verbal communication skills
—Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
—Experience with Microsoft Office programs (mainly Excel and Word) and G Suite programs
—Ability to work independently and in a team environment
A high level of professionalism
